AB 332 to Move Forward Following Committee Approval

leave a comment »

ab332The California Legislature’s Labor and Employment committee approved Assembly Bill 332 this afternoon, as the proposed piece of legislation received the five votes necessary for it to move forward to the Assembly Appropriations Committee for consideration.

With another vote of approval, AB 332 – which would mandate the use of barrier protection on adult film shoots statewide – will then be voted on by the full Assembly. If eventually passed following review by the Senate, the bill is slated to become effective on January 1, 2015.

Speaking on behalf of the adult industry – which largely opposes AB 332 – were performer and director Bobbi Starr, producer Lorenzo Marr, ex-talent Lydia Lee (a.k.a. Julie Meadows) and many others.
