Since arriving on the XXX scene in November 2012, the rising brunette newcomer has continued to build her brand with roles for some of porn’s top studios, including Girlfriends Films, Evil Angel and New Sensations in addition to being featured on the X3Sixty Network’s Adult Insider program.

Let’s start at the beginning: Can you tell us how you initially entered the adult industry?

Well, I was fetish modeling and doing art nudes and that sort of thing. I did that for about a year-and-a-half and in that, I just started … at first, I wouldn’t take my top off. Then, I would do nude, but I wouldn’t spread my legs; then, I started spreading my legs. And then, I started doing toys and fingers. I was doing more and more hardcore things, so porn was the next step.

And you have been in the industry since the end of last year, is that right?

Yeah, since November of last year.

Seeing as you have been in adult for a little while now, is the business essentially what you thought it would be or has there been a lot that has surprised you?

You know, it’s pretty much what I thought it would be; it’s maybe even more professional and organized than I was expecting because I was used to fetish modeling and everything sort of on the fly. But, it’s overall pretty much what I expected, yeah.

563483_297035167090767_448701969_nDo you have any specific aspirations in mind for your career looking down the road?

I’d really like to win an AVN Award. I’d also really like to be on the cover of a big magazine like Hustler or Penthouse or something like that.

But other than those two things, I’ve pretty much accomplished all of my other goals. I had the goal of having ten thousand Twitter followers and I’m at twelve thousand right now. And there were some companies that I wanted to work for and I’ve worked for them.

Are there any studios or talent that you haven’t yet had the chance to work with, but would like to in the future?

The only real talent who I haven’t worked with – which I’m sure everybody says – is James Deen. I haven’t worked with him and I’ve heard such great things that I’d like to try.

In terms of companies, the only big company I haven’t shot for yet is Adam & Eve. So, hopefully, they will hire me at some point.

I also wanted to ask about your stage name. When I was reading up in preparation for the interview, I learned that Casey Calvert was the name of a guitarist for the band Hawthorne Heights and was wondering if you chose the name as a tribute of sorts.

No, I chose the name from a bunch of different things. “Casey” is the combination of a bunch of different initials and then “Calvert” comes from something else.

When I chose the name, I didn’t Google it. I had been using that name as a fetish model and when I started in porn, I asked Mark Spiegler, “Should we change my name? There is already somebody out there whose name was Casey Calvert.” And he said, “It’s not a big deal.” So, I didn’t do it as a tribute, no. I didn’t even know that that other Casey Calvert existed until maybe a year ago.

BLo-OeFCIAE01DxIs there one misconception about the adult business that particularly bothers you or that you wish you could dispel?

You know, I think the biggest misconception that people have is that all of us … that this is the only thing that we can do, that this is our only option; we’re not smart enough to do anything else, we’re not capable of doing anything else, so this is the one job that makes us the most money. I know that that’s true for some girls – maybe half the girls – but there are plenty of girls in this business who have gone to college like I have and who have made the decision to do porn. We’re not forced into it.

Right, absolutely. May I ask a few questions about yourself as a person if that’s okay?

Yeah!

Great. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

I grew up in Gainesville, Florida. I was always a very shy, quiet, reserved person.

I was a tomboy – I played sports. I never really dated; I didn’t really have a boyfriend until I was 21.

I have a really good relationship with my family. I’m really close with my family and they support my decision to do porn.

Excellent – it’s always nice to hear when a performer’s family is supportive of their decision to enter the industry.

Yeah.

How about interests and hobbies away from work?

I love being outside. I’m a rock climber, so I try to do that whenever I can. I also love scuba diving and just hanging out at home, hanging out with my friends, sleeping – I love sleeping.

How about favorites – favorite movie, T.V. show, musical artists and things like that?

(Laughs) Those are such tricky questions. I don’t know if I have a favorite any of those, to be honest with you. Yeah … I don’t know – sorry! (Laughs)

BPFxUY7CMAMYIHs(Laughs) No problem. Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise people?

I think it surprises a lot of people that I did not start having sex until I was 21; I lost my virginity when I was 21 and I’m 23 now and doing porn. So, that surprises a lot of people.

Are there any current or upcoming projects on the horizon that you would like to mention?

I’m shooting next week for the new Vivid superhero movie, which I don’t know when that’s going to come out, but I’m going to be in that. And a new DVD from Pornfidelity just came out that I’m in called Dark Perversions, Volume 2, and I have a scene in that.

Is there anything you wish to say in closing to readers?

Thanks for interviewing me, I appreciate it. Tell them all they can follow me on Twitter – it is @CaseyCalvertXXX.
