Let’s start at the beginning: Can you tell us how you initially entered the adult industry?

Well, I always watched it since … you know, since I shouldn’t have. (Laughs) I started watching it early on because it was very easy to access with my generation. So, I always watched it. In the back of my head as I got older, I was like, “Aw, I want to do that!” But I was a virgin until I was 17, so I wasn’t like, “Oh, that’s what I’m going to do,” but it was always in the back of my mind.

Then, about three years ago, I came out to L.A. for a friend’s birthday who I had known for a long time. We were in a club and I saw a red carpet and there were porn stars that I recognized because I grew up watching all of them. So, I’m all star-struck and excited and Tee Reel actually saw me looking over and came over and invited me over. We kind of just talked and I was saying that I always wanted to do it; I was 21 at the time, so I wasn’t just 18 – I had time to think about it. He kind of took me out for the rest of the week that I was there – he took me out to porn parties and just kind of showed me the lifestyle, the people, and I loved it.

I went back home to New York and I came back to visit for about a year and got to know the people and got to hear stories of people’s experiences in the industry. Then, I just decided that I wanted to do it and I moved out here, Tee Reel became my agent and it’s been great ever since.

And you have been performing since 2011, is that right?

Yeah, a little over two years.

In that time, who have been some of your favorite performers and companies to work with?

I love working for Brazzers. I work for them a lot and I always have a good time on set and I get a lot of good feedback from it.

I love working with Johnny Sins; I work with him a lot for Brazzers. And then, the typical girl answer: Manuel Ferrara. (Laughs) And Sean Michaels, I love.

BTreDwpIAAAYMkxAre there any studios or talent that you haven’t yet had the opportunity to work with, but wish to in the future?

I actually haven’t worked for Wicked yet, which I would love to work for them. But I’ve pretty much worked for everyone else.

Performers … I definitely want to work with Celeste Star. She’s my favorite girl/girl performer – I’m like, in love with her. (Laughs)

Do have any aspirations in mind for your career looking down the road?

I would definitely love to get behind the scenes once I’m finished performing. I used to want to get into directing, but I’m not really sure anymore. I love this industry and I definitely don’t want to leave it any time soon.

I was kind of thinking of being on the agent side of things eventually. I’m lucky – I have a good agency; they are very professional and they’ve always been there for me and stuff, and I would love to be that for girls. Especially the girls because they get in and a lot of the time they just get thrown to the wolves. And I would love to kind of guide them through their careers and teach them things that I was able to learn and that I had people tell me when I started – just little things. I’ve had people that helped guide me through, so I’ve been really lucky, but there are other girls that don’t have that at all.

Yeah. There are actually several girls I’ve heard of who have transitioned over to the agency side of the business. There are good agents, obviously, but I think someone who has actually performed can maybe offer a perspective that an agent who has never been in front of the camera doesn’t have. I think that is a valuable trait.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I want to do. As the ones who perform, we have kind of a broader knowledge of experience of everything.

Yeah. Is there one misconception about the adult industry from people outside of it that bothers you in particular or that you wish you could dispel?

I mean, there are tons of stigmas that come with it, but I don’t like that everyone thinks that we’re stupid; everyone thinks that we’re unintelligent and can’t hold a conversation. I pride myself on the fact that I can have a conversation with anyone and I carry myself well and a lot of people, they think we’re stupid or we’re drug addicts and I’ve never done a drug in my life; I smoked weed seven years ago and I haven’t since. I’m not really into that and there are a lot of girls that aren’t.

I guess in any profession there are always people who have habits of drugs and drinking, it’s just we’re kind of magnified. We’re a smaller community, so everyone knows and we’re in the spotlight, so everyone sees if someone has a downfall.

It just bothers me that they think we’re all on drugs and party all the time. On a Friday night, I would much rather stay in bed and read a book. It bothers me.

May I ask a few questions about yourself as a person if that’s okay?

Sure.

BIMP1chCIAAsNFBGreat – thank you. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

I’m from Long Island, New York. I was born and raised there, lived in the same house all my life and I definitely have that tough New Yorker side to me. (Laughs) I grew up in a really great home, so I have the best of both worlds: I can be a tough little cookie or I can be a super-caring kind of person.

How about interests and hobbies outside of work?

Actually, I’m big on singing. (Laughs) I was doing singing before I got into the industry, so that’s like my favorite pastime; it’s writing songs – I’m actually learning how to play the guitar right now – or just singing somewhere. I’m trying to get back into open mic nights and stuff that I used to do. That’s like, my main hobby.

Yeah. Actually, when I was reading up in preparation for the interview, I saw that you posted a video just recently and thought it was very good. You really have a terrific voice.

Thank you!

And you are a regular at Porn Star Karaoke as well, right?

Yeah, I host it every once in a while when Nicki Hunter can’t come in. I’m always there – it’s another place for me to sing.

Who are some of your personal favorite singers?

(Laughs) I have very eclectic taste. One of my favorite singers is from the twenties; I love Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse. But then I love Beyonce, Britney Spears, and I was a huge ‘N Sync fan, and I love Sublime. I just love music and if someone is talented enough and they have a good voice, I’m hooked.

How about some other favorites, like T.V. shows and movies?

I love musicals – (Laughs) surprise, surprise. Rent and West Side Story are my favorite movies, but I love A Bronx Tale and The Departed.

Favorite T.V. shows, I’ve been watching Law & Order: SVU for years – the typical girl answer. (Laughs) I’m hooked on Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. And I like the funny shows like Modern Family and stuff.

Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise a lot of people?

Honestly, not really, anymore because I talk about everything, I share everything with my fans. It used to be, “Well, I love jazz music,” but I would change my answer all the time. Now, I’m like, “I really think they know everything about me.” (Laughs)

Are there any current or upcoming projects in the works that you would like to put out there?

Right now, I actually haven’t worked in about two months because I hurt my back. I was home in New York – I was supposed to be there for ten days – and I ended up throwing my back out. Now I have a herniated disc and a bulging disc.

DigitalPlaygroundTessaLaneOh, geez.

So, I’m out for a little while longer until I finish physical therapy. I did a scene for Jules Jordan, I think it’s going to be called Wet Tits. It’s with William H., performed with James Deen. It was my first time in two years performing with James Deen – I was so excited. So, it’s like a major scene. (Laughs)

Yeah, he’s been in the spotlight quite a bit in the last year or so.

Oh, yeah.

Do you have an official website?

I don’t. I have bought the domain and I started shooting content, but things weren’t working the way that I wanted them to and stuff. Maybe I’ll eventually get back to that – I still have the domain name and everything. But as of right now, I don’t.

To finish up, is there anything else you wish to say to readers?

I have the most amazing fans. I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for them and that’s why I love to be very interactive with them, so if they ever want to talk to me, just Tweet me. (Laughs)

Great. Thanks for taking time out to talk with me today, I appreciate it. I wish you the best with your career – and I hope your back gets better, too.

Thank you! Me, too. (Laughs)

Have a great day and take care.

Awesome! Thank you – you, too.
